I teach a Print Basics class at Chicago Printmakers Collaborative on Tuesday nights. It is a very full class but somehow everyone manages to make it despite the snow and subzero temps… we have a lot of fun! and snacks! :D
Anyway, this week everyone rocked it! I have to post about it. Here is a photo and video of Casey Engel, my badass TA, showing off some of her relief prints and blocks. Afterwards we got the carving and printing demos… I will be posting some of the prints next week.
Many thanks to everyone who came out to the opening last Saturday! It was lovely to see so many great friends and meet new ones. I am so grateful for the lovely and warm reception.
The exhibition will run through September 1st, at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative in Lincoln Square.
Below are some of the prints on display.

A quick update on my artist residency at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative…
I wanted to a series of relief woodcuts based around a story I wrote some time ago. When I finish, there will be ten woodcut prints and a story page. Overall, it has been a slow, learning process, but it is exciting to see it start coming together.
