Ah, I’ve abandoned the blog again! Like it’s a surprise. Especially now that I’ve stopped doing the daily drawings, there is less for me to report on here. But I enjoy it, so I’m not totally sure why I’ve stopped posting things. I guess between being sick all last week and dealing with some personal things, writing on here has been pretty low priority.
That said, here’s upcoming stuff I’m excited about:
PRINTERVENTION: Printing for the Public Poster show opening April 16th at Chicago Cultural Center’s Tourism Building.
More info on their website: http://www.printervention.org/ <– just look at the lineup! It should be pretty fantastic…
I just finished printing the poster yesterday and I’ll post it as soon as I can. Of course, you should just come to the show and see it all in person.
A little bit about the show from the website:
‘Printervention underscores the necessity for the support of artists and the idea of civic responsibility to the greater society. Inspired by the Depression era’s Works Progress Administration (WPA) that hired artists to make murals, posters and other art for the everyday, Printerventionists are asked to recreate that era’s style of communication. The project unfolds on the streets of Chicago, in storefront galleries and includes talks, workshops, public printing more.’
There will also be a series of workshops taking place during the Version Festival April 22-May 2. I will be leading a screen printing workshop on behalf of Spudnik Press. More info on that soon.
On Thursday, Brook and I depart on a road-trip for a few days to celebrate our six-year anniversary (!!!) So the blog will be abandoned yet again. We get back Sunday with lots of photos so I’ll be posting them.
This might be a bit too early, but Angee and I will be teaching a One-Day Workshop in June on ‘Screenprinting Your Own T-Shirt’. Sound fun? It is! You can sign up here (scroll to the bottom of the page). I’m announcing it now since space fills up pretty damn fast.
Okay, enough of this. I’m going outside while it’s sunny for once.
