I sure hope these are right! Trying to get all those articles and declaratives and whatever else is super hard. Please correct me if these sound ridiculously wrong.

    From the top:

    2. a cup of warm tea
    3. a glass of cold milk

We have been getting stuff together for our move, so I am a bit behind on posting. These next two weeks will be a little weird as things are more and more up in the air around here.

I made this drawing of a train after attending a meeting about ‘Art on Track’ last night.

Spudnik Press was invited to participate in ‘Art on Track’ this year – basically, an event that involves various Chicago artists ‘transforming’ an eight-car CTA train for one evening. This year’s event will occur on Saturday, August 7th, from 5 pm to 10 pm. A group of members (myself included) from Spudnik Press will be showcasing a collaborative print-based exhibition in one of the cars – it should be awesome! We are sharing the car with some other artists, so there will be non-print things as well.

We will also be featuring our mini-print machines, where you can purchase a tiny print for 25 cents or a slightly less tiny print for a dollar. All the prints will be train & transport-themed! Here are some ink drawings that I plan on making into tiny colorful prints… going along with the German lessons hehe.

kugel (’ball’) + schreiber (’writer’) = ball-point pen

A few random items around the house. We are moving and boxes are on my mind!

  • German lessons, ja?!

Ah! Every once in a while, a good idea just hits me and I have to share! Okay, this is not the greatest mind-blowing idea ever… BUT I’m pretty excited about it. So – I’ve been trying to teach myself the German language on and off for a while (”trying” being a very loose term here, more like “wishing.”) Of course I’ve managed to grasp very little of anything. So it dawned on me today that I should draw some items every day and write their names in German. This will help me learn and it’s a really fun exercise. Of course, a lot of German words are practically the same, like ‘lamp’… I learned that after drawing it. I will get better at this!

So if you want to learn some German with me (hee hee), check back and I’ll be posting the drawings as often as I can. Here’s some night-related items to start.

    Tschüss!

It’s almost 3, finally getting around to posting the drawing from earlier today. It is from an old photograph I found, possibly of a nut or candy salesman.

New drawings from the strange worlds in my head. Lots more to come! I’ve been plugging away on redesigning & recoding my website and it is all taking longer than expected. Hopefully I’ll have the new one up by the end of the month.

We went to the farmers’ market yesterday and when I got back I decided to make a drawing about it. I don’t have any photos so it was pretty much from memory. Then I made some more drawings and watched the thunderstorm.
